Bangsaen beach has been popular with Thai tourists for a long time, and non-Thais have now also started to appreciate what it has to offer. Tourists from Europe and America are now flocking to the beautiful, peaceful town of Bangsaen, so as to spend their vacation in a modern, but authentic, Thai destination.

It is predominantly couples and families who go to Bangsaen beach. Backpackers prefer the party atmosphere on the southern Thai islands, and sex tourists head to Pattaya or Phuket. For those just looking to drink and party in Thailand, Bangsaen beach holds little appeal.

Do not take that to mean that Bangsaen beach is boring though. You can sunbathe on the beach, do water-sports, go shopping, watch movies, etc. It provides fun, but in a peaceful, serene environment. If it did not have so much going for it, then it would not have so many non-Thais setting up their new home there.

There are literally thousands of non-Thais who have built or bought vacation homes around Bangsaen beach. If you are planning to visit the area, then you might want to consider renting one from them. You can stay in a truly wonderful luxury home in a truly wonderful location. How often do you get a chance to do that?

Having your own private swimming pool sounds good, right? Well, they are pretty much standard in these homes. How about living a minute or two from the beach? You might even be able to get a property right on the beach. The pictures you see in magazines of the homes of the stars are pretty much what you can expect to find around Bangsaen beach.

Price-wise, there are some absolutely great deals to be had. Remember – everything in Thailand is cheaper than it is in your home country. It is no exaggeration to say that you can secure the same quality of accommodation that you are used to at just a fraction of the price. As Bangsaen beach is still not on most tourist maps, you can get some especially great deals – for the time being at least.

If you are planning to stay for less than a month, then you do not need to arrange a visa, as you will be given a free one on arrival at the airport. For stays of a longer than a month then you will need to get a tourist visa from a Thai consulate in your home country. A tourist visa permits you to stay in Thailand for up to 3 months and will cost you around $50.

December to February is the best time to visit Bangsaen beach, though a couple of months either side of that period will still guarantee you good weather. Temperatures consistently break the 90 degrees mark throughout this time, so be sure to pack lots of shorts, t-shirts and sun-tan lotion!
