Can you Date a Korean girl successfully if you are not Korean?
No really, can you?
Here are 3 issues. Lets go over some common problems.
1. Your house will smell like kimchee
– Hold your breath when opening the refrigerator
-Kimchee frdges are too expensive
2. Her mom will hate you unless you are a doctor or lawyer
– She will forever go on about -Kayoung oh- who married a doctor and lives all day at the spa/bathhouse/gym/gossip megaplex. “what a great life right? thats what I want for you”
3. Korean guys will hate you if you are not yourself a korean guy
-A lot of korean guys are close-minded jerk faces
– I said most, dont raise the alarm bells
– Male specimans in Korea think they own every girl in existence
– Watch out! Technically you are dating their personal property
The Korean misogynist problem is inherent in the language. The word for wife is the combination of “chip” and “saram.”"Chip” means house and “saram” means person. Literally if you combine the words you get “houseperson” 집 + 사람= 집사람 =wife.
Those are some big problems. Dont forget the incessant racist comments you will receive when you are seen walking around Seoul with a Korean girl.
But dont let that discourage you.
On another point KImchee is actually good. I am a conformist. I sacrifice my American identity for spoiled (fermented says Won Jung) cabbage. Other wise know as Kimchee or Gimchee. Actually. I love the stuff.
I want you guys on the interwebz to please try putting Kimchee on cheese pizza. It is amazing.
Currently I have a problem of eating pizza that doesn’t have Kimchee as a topping. Kimcheeless pizza is bland, uninteresting and tasteless.
Do yourself a favor and try it.
Back to the matter at hand you can date a Korean girl successfully. One just has to be aware of all the problems that you might face. One has go to know these problems before going head on into a relationship with a Korean girl. Most importantly I would be aware that a being a doctor or lawyer is probably your best bet to dating a Korean.
And on that first date take her to see “the Last Godfather,” for a bit of a cultural interweaving.
The star Hyung rae Shim was an aspiring Korean, comedic film actor. Actually he was a slapstick comedian during the eighties aspiring to become an actor/director/producer. Nobody thought he could do it, but he did and he is now making movies with Joel Cohen.
The Last Godfather is a correspondence between Korean and American creative forces.
Okay the trailer seems humorous. The angst and essence (and hopefully funniness) of the story rests in the retiring Maffia boss’s decision to elect his bastard, mentally challenged Korean son (played by Hyung Rae Shim) to take over his criminal empire.
